Moissanite, that sparkle city gorgeous rock that has been booming into recent popularity, get’s a pretty bad rap. With FAQs like, “is it tacky,” “does it last,” and “is moissanite worth it?” it’s easy to see why people are down on this glittery gem.

Or is it?! Can you smell the tea? TBH, moissanite is a fantastic diamond alternative. It’s got a good shine, it lasts, and it’s affordable as all get out. So here it is, all the reasons they want you to hate moissanite, and all the reasons we love it instead.

Moissanite Is So Tacky!

The fact that this is one of the first FAQs that pop up when you search moissanite low-key hilarious. While what is or isn’t tacky is largely up to individual opinion, the only cheugy vibes we are picking up is that someone is trying to talk you into less.

Moissanite is super sparkly, and some diamond companies try to drag it like that glitzy glitter is total ick. But whoever said that there was such a thing as too much sparkle?

For real, the high-key sparkle and fire rainbow flashes moissanite give off are what makes it super unique, and we absolutely stan. But if you want to cut down the sparkle, moissanite can also be cut to act more like a diamond.

Ok, this one is low-key sus. Moissanite doesn’t get cloudy, why would it?

Check it out, remember that whole “moissanite is super hard” thing we were just on about? Yeah that. Nothing is going to scratch up this glitter rock other than diamonds or another moissanite. Unless you’re digging around in a bucket of loose gems (that sounds fun) it’s not that.

Ok, all tea, all shade, this one really seems like a major pick me moment form the diamond companies. Isn’t worth what? Looking gorge on your finger?

Moissanite is stunningly snatched, abundantly affordable, and looks great in any shape, and any setting. That low price? It allows you to get a bigger ring if you’d like one, and to save money if you don’t.

It also allows people with smaller budgets to get the ring they want, not just what they can afford. TBH an affordable alternative to diamonds is worth quite a lot in our book. So since we know it looks gorge and lasts forever, what is this really saying?

That only a diamond is worthy of your love? Big yikes to that cringy boomer narrative. A ring is a symbol, only you and your partner get to decide what is worthy about that symbol. Be it the money you put into it, or the feelings behind it.

Moissanite Is So Cheap
